Ferrochina VILLALTA

Ferro-China is the first liquor ever to be made with the salt of a metal. It is an excellent supplement for the blood. Mothers of the time mixed it with eggs to help their children grow. It was believed that iron diluted in alcohol was easily metabolized by the body. Mixed with China it also always had a curative purpose against malaria. Its typical bottle is made of dark glass to protect the contents from light, similarly to what happens for the conservation of pharmaceutical products. It was exported mainly to Asia and India.

Il Ferro-Cina è il primo liquore in assoluto ad essere prodotto con il sale di un metallo. È un ottimo integratore per il sangue. Le madri dell’epoca lo mescolavano con le uova per aiutare i loro figli a crescere. Si credeva che il ferro diluito nell’alcol fosse facilmente metabolizzato dall’organismo. Mescolato con la China, ha sempre avuto anche uno scopo curativo contro la malaria. Il suo tipico flacone è realizzato in vetro scuro per proteggere il contenuto dalla luce, in modo simile a quanto avviene per la conservazione dei prodotti farmaceutici. È stato esportato principalmente in Asia e in India.
